(This map is for use by people attending the fiddle camp. We are sorry, but no visitors are permitted during the week while camp is in session.)
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE:
Check-in time at camp on August 22, 2025 is 4:00 PM. Check-out time on August 30, 2025 is no later than 10:00 AM. VOM will arrange a shuttle service from San Jose International Airport (SJC) to meet these times.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE
VOM will arrange a shuttle between San Jose International Airport (SJC) and Camp Campbell for airline travelers who need a ride to and from camp. The shuttle will run only once on arrival and departure days as specified below. If you want to use the VOM shuttle, you must add the shuttle fee to your other camp fees when you pay your final bill, which will be mailed in April. If you cannot use the VOM shuttle, we will try to assist you with making other arrangements.
Before camp, the Transportation Coordinator will be in touch with all those who sign up for the shuttle.
FLIGHT BOOKING
Please book your arrival flight to land at San Jose International Airport (SJC) before 2:00 PM on Friday, August 22.
If you plan to fly into San Francisco International (SFO), please book your flight to arrive before 12:00 PM to allow yourself enough time to get to camp. VOM will try to assist with getting to camp from SFO if possible, but cannot guarantee that transportation will be available.
Please book your return flight from San Jose International Airport (SJC) after 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, if at all possible. Travel time between SJC and camp is about one hour. For planning purposes, we suggest you allow an extra half hour, or more, to hedge against possible traffic tie-ups.
If you are traveling through San Francisco International (SFO), we suggest that you book your return flight after 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 30 to allow ample time to get to the airport.
AFTER ARRIVING AT SJC
We’ll meet at the Baggage Claim area in Terminal B at San Jose International Airport (SJC) no later than 2:15 PM. Look for someone holding a sign that says “VOM.” You might also look for a group with a bunch of fiddle and cello cases.
If you arrive at Terminal A, there is a free shuttle that will take you to Terminal B. Please give yourself a ten-minute cushion for this ride.
Please let the Transportation Coordinator know if you have missed a connection or if your flight has been delayed. We may be able to delay the VOM shuttle departure for a short time. We’ll wait for you at Terminal B if we’re expecting you, and have heard from you that you will be a little late. If delays cause you to miss our shuttle – and we know about it – we will have some alternative way to get you to camp. We won’t leave you stranded.
If you are unfamiliar with SJC, you can go to www.flysanjose.com and click on the “Maps and Directions” link. You will see maps for both Terminals A and B, with airlines served and other facilities. For your convenience and ready reference, here is a diagram of Terminal B with indications for our meeting place and bus connection.
SFO to SJC
If you will be arriving at SFO rather than SJC, there are several shuttle options for travel between the two airports that you can view at this link.
RETURN
Our bus will return you to the airport on Saturday, August 30, leaving Camp Campbell at 9:30 AM. If, for some reason, you must book an early flight, please let us know as soon as possible so we can try to work out an alternative to our planned departure time from camp.
COST
Round trip for the VOM shuttle between SJC and VOM will cost approximately $80.00 per person, including driver’s tip. The cost will be a supplement, which you must add to your VOM final payment. You will be charged this amount even though you may only ride one way, because the bus company charges for the seat, whether it is occupied or not.
IF YOU MISS THE SHUTTLE
If your flight has been delayed and you arrive after the shuttle has left or you cannot make the shuttle, there are other ways to get to camp. Various transportation alternatives can be viewed at this link.
